Remember: - When students join Art Club, they are members for the entire school year. - There is no need to sign up for each session or individual workshop. - Club participants that prioritize regular attendance will see growth in confidence, relationships, and creativity over the school year. # Art Club 24-25 Calendar ##### If you have any questions, [reach out!](https://rootedsonshine.com/connect?hsLang=en) Past Event ### May 2025: Closing Event - Spread YOUR Art Everywhere! Art Club was created to give young artists the space, opportunity, and support to BE creative. There were no lessons to teach them HOW to be creative. There was no expectation to walk away with a product. There was never a box that they had to fit into.  Art Club was unrestricted on PURPOSE so that young artists felt autonomous, confident, and capable as they continue on their creative journeys.   Year One is in the books. I could not be more inspired by every single one of them. ![IMG\_6223](https://rootedsonshine.com/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_6223.jpeg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_6223.jpeg)   Past Event ### Sept 2024: Kick Off Event: Art IS Everywhere! [Liberty Lake Library](https://www.libertylakewa.gov/721/Library) The kick off for Art Club hosted over 68 people! Young artists created name tags and self portraits.  Rock School NW shared the ukulele. Young artists went home with idea books and the challenge to create in whatever ways they were inspired.  Past Event ### Sept 2024: Nature [Pavillion Park](https://www.libertylakewa.gov/743/Pavillion-Park) Young artists explored nature - breaking into small groups, they collected and observed pinecones, leaves, sand, branches, insects, and more. They shared colors and perspectives. Some artists found inspiration in teamwork, others found inspiration in glue, and even others found it in how the sand felt on their bare feet.  ![IMG\_4629](https://rootedsonshine.com/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_4629.jpeg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_4629.jpeg) A team of two highly focused artists spent the ENTIRE session collecting the perfect supplies for this incredible work of art! Past Event ### Oct 2024: Music [Rock School NW](https://www.rockschoolnw.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw9Km3BhDjARIsAGUb4nwbqgRoyda3JBFpOV8vARcPfzakFPGX24A4ZTiNO8OghPbPtk9R-LAaAmkREALw_wcB) Young artists sang songs, painted rocks, and used the microphone. With the support of musicians and teachers, they explored a real life recording studio and made up their own songs. Some artists were inspired by dancing. Others found inspiration in creating beats with drumsticks. Thank you, Rock School NW and MØDE for this incredible Saturday morning of art! ![IMG\_4775](https://rootedsonshine.com/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_4775.jpeg?width=750&height=862&name=IMG_4775.jpeg)   Past Event ### Nov 2024: Movement [TAC at the Lake](https://www.tacatthelake.com/) Boy oh BOY did these young artists MOVE! After guided backstage tours, tongue twisters, and exercises in teamwork and lots of silliness, Art Clubbers danced out the doors begging their parents to sign them up for auditions. Some artists naturally took to performing, while other artists took interest in set design and directing, and all artists stretched their creativity! Thank you, TAC at the Lake, Kyle Smock, Paige Jackson, and all the board members for welcoming Art Club to our local theatre! ![8774d16a-5aa6-4583-a9a1-788ce3d70baf](https://rootedsonshine.com/hs-fs/hubfs/8774d16a-5aa6-4583-a9a1-788ce3d70baf.jpeg?width=2048&height=1536&name=8774d16a-5aa6-4583-a9a1-788ce3d70baf.jpeg)   Past Event ### Dec 2024: Fashion [TAC at the Lake](https://www.tacatthelake.com/) Lots of busy young artists couldn't contain their excitement. Maybe heading straight to Art Club after the first full day back to school in two weeks and a long holiday was riskier than we thought 😆😜 Nevertheless, thanks again to TAC at the Lake, Kyle Smock, Paige Jackson for allowing Art Club to ransack the stage and the costumes!  ![IMG\_5190](https://rootedsonshine.com/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_5190.jpeg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_5190.jpeg)   Past Event ### Jan 2025: Poetry/Story Telling/Using your voice [Rock School NW](https://www.rockschoolnw.com/)  Young artists explored their own stories and story telling skills. They wrote poetry and short stories, played the telephone game, laughed a LOT, and then wrote and recorded their own lyrics. Listen [HERE](https://rootedsonshine.com/hubfs/Liberty%20Launch%20Academy.m4a?hsLang=en) Watch out for fire-breathing chickens!  Thank YOU, [Rock School NW](https://www.rockschoolnw.com/) for using music and songwriting to encourage young artists to release ALL their emotions in the most positive ways!! [![IMG\_5451](https://rootedsonshine.com/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_5451.jpeg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_5451.jpeg)](https://rootedsonshine.com/hubfs/Liberty%20Launch%20Academy.m4a?hsLang=en)   Past Event ### Feb 2025: Culture/Traditions/Language [Liberty Lake Library Meeting Room](https://www.libertylakewa.gov/721/Library) It was so cool to hear all the young artists share about their individual cultures through their celebrations, traditions, and language. Some of us learned that we call our grandmothers by the same name. Even our youngest artists were able to create art inspired by how they celebrate their birthdays. But I think the highlight was sharing what games we play in our cultures. ![IMG\_5514-1](https://rootedsonshine.com/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_5514-1.jpeg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_5514-1.jpeg)     Past Event ### March 2025: Science/Brains/Bodies/Abilities [Inclusa Health & Wellness](https://www.inclusahealthandwellness.com/) Moving their bodies with jump ropes and trampolines . . . Using geometry in building castles . . . creating works of art in pizza, young artists were immersed in art at every turn!  Thank you, Inclusa Health & Wellness for welcoming Art Club to your space! ![IMG\_5696](https://rootedsonshine.com/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_5696.jpeg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_5696.jpeg) Past Event ### April 2025: Unconventional Materials [Liberty Lake Library](https://libertylakewa.gov/721/Library) Artists used nail polish, CDs, graduation decorations, dandelions, plastic Easter eggs, and highlighters to make one of a kind pieces.  It was an incredible reminder to SEE and HEAR young artists question their freedom and imaginations.  "Can we use this?" "Can I paint this?" "Can I take this apart?" It isn't ALWAYS possible to let young artists go nuts with nail polish - but DO let them from time to time so they don't forget that their imagination REALLY is limitless 😍 ![IMG\_5901](https://rootedsonshine.com/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_5901.jpeg?width=4032&height=3024&name=IMG_5901.jpeg)   --- [![Rooted Sonshine Transparent Logo- (1000 × 525 px) (1)](https://rootedsonshine.com/hubfs/Rooted%20Sonshine%20Transparent%20Logo-%20(1000%20%C3%97%20525%20px)%20(1).svg "Rooted Sonshine Transparent Logo- (1000 × 525 px) (1)")](https://rootedsonshine.com/?hsLang=en) ©Rooted Sonshine 2023.[Privacy Policy](https://rootedsonshine.com/privacy-policy?hsLang=en) --- - Terms and Services - Privacy Policy Powered by HubSnacks [Follow us on Facebook](https://www.facebook.com) [Follow us on LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com) [Follow us on Twitter](https://www.twitter.com)
