# Living the Mission and Meeting the Vision

When I wrote that, it felt direct. Not only plausible, but obvious. Simple. After all, I am talking about small acts of human kindness - not rocket science. And yet, I can still sometimes find myself overwhelmed by Rooted Sonshine’s mission and vision. I can feel burdened by business opportunities that may or may not fit this mission. 

Mine is a common response. Missions and visions are explicitly written to keep individuals, groups, businesses, organizations on track. Yet, many frequently find themselves straying, working on projects that don’t move them towards their ultimate vision, or even falling off the course entirely by promoting standards that are in direct competition with their own values. 

Most have admirable mission statements that they support in theory, but many have difficulty living those missions in practice 100% of the time. 

Look at some examples below and ask, *Have these business leaders ever strayed from living their missions?*        

JetBlue: To inspire humanity – both in the air and on the ground.              

Microsoft: To empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.              

Meta: Giving people the power to build community and bring the world closer together.                

LinkedIn: Connect the world's professionals to make them more productive and successful.

Of course they have. When you think of JetBlue, can you readily recall multiple examples of how they have *inspired humanity*? Empowering *every* person and organization on the *entire* planet - that is a tall order, even for Microsoft. Meta has even been criticized for potentially dividing people, and some professionals argue that LinkedIn’s algorithm might actually impede productivity.

If worldwide leaders can do more to live their missions, how can you and your team improve?

It can be difficult, even impossible, to be impartial enough to assess your own business or your own behavior. 

That’s where Rooted Sonshine lives *its* mission - offering collaborative services that provide detailed audits and progress evaluations to support you in achieving best results toward your group and individual goals.
