Inspiration

Hearing about things that have happened elsewhere can spark ideas about what you can implement locally. The Mill Institute at UATX is an important part in bringing people together, even when they disagree, in the "pursuit of truth".

"By convening and training educators, creating learning resources, and conducting research, the Mill Institute helps students become less certain and more curious when it comes to the way they understand the world and one another."

Just a little over a year ago, The Mill Institute was created with Faculty Director Ilana Redstone who said, “With a willingness to question what we know about the world and each other, the Mill Institute will model civil disagreement, train instructors, and offer engaging programming to students and the public. We’ll equip the next generation to confront complex issues together.”

They're hosting their second annual Teacher Fellowship this October where the Mill Institute helps educators model and welcome respectful dialog around complex topics.

We are a community even when we disagree. It is essential to communicate!
